How We Work — The RoofOps System.

Two things determine whether a roof lasts: how the work gets executed, and how the customer gets taken care of long after the crew leaves. The RoofOps System covers both. Nine steps. Two phases. Same standard on every roof — from a $1,500 repair to a $75,000 DaVinci estate.

Why Process Matters

When Contractors Wing It:

  • Estimates miss scope that surfaces later as surprise charges
  • Material deliveries arrive incomplete and delay the crew
  • Crews show up without a plan, permit, or clear spec
  • Homeowner can't reach anyone with questions during the install
  • Installation quality depends on which crew happens to show up
  • Final walkthroughs get skipped or turn into a driveway wave

Every one of those is a process problem. The RoofOps System eliminates them.

Same Standard. Every Roof. Every Time.

The RoofOps System.

Most contractors have a sales process. We have an operational system. Nine steps, two phases — built so nothing gets missed, nothing gets rushed, and you're never wondering what happens next. This runs every job, regardless of size.

Phase 1 — Execution
We do the job right — from day one.
01

Recon

We assess everything before we touch anything.

  • Full roof + exterior inspection
  • Photos, measurements, complete documentation
  • Identification of all problem areas and root causes

No guessing. No assumptions.

02

Identify

We define the right solution.

  • Root cause analysis — not surface-level fixes
  • System and material recommendations matched to your home
  • Scope built for long-term durability

Fix it right the first time.

03

Align

We get everything dialed in before we start.

  • Walkthrough with homeowner before materials arrive
  • Confirmation of scope, materials, color, and timeline
  • Site protection plan, access routes, daily job flow

No surprises. Full clarity.

04

Execute

Precision installation. No shortcuts.

  • Installed to manufacturer spec — or beyond
  • Clean, controlled jobsite throughout the install
  • Active oversight and quality control by your project leader

Done right. Period.

05

Verify

We inspect, clean, and walk it together.

  • Full quality inspection against the RoofOps Standard
  • Complete cleanup — magnetic sweep, debris removal
  • Final walkthrough with you, in person

If it's not right, we fix it.

Phase 2 — Ownership
We don't disappear after the job. We take responsibility.
06

Document & Register

We lock everything in.

  • Manufacturer warranty registered same day
  • HonorGuard workmanship warranty issued
  • Complete job photos and system documentation archived

Everything recorded. Nothing missed.

07

Follow Through

We check in after the job is done.

  • 48–72 hour follow-up call from your project leader
  • Confirm satisfaction — address any concerns immediately
  • Direct line for anything that comes up afterward

We don't wait for problems.

08

Closeout Package

You get everything you need — organized.

  • All warranty documents in one place
  • Roof care and maintenance guide specific to your system
  • Final invoice and complete project records

Clear. Organized. Professional.

09

Long-Term Support

We're your roofer — not just for one job.

  • Optional annual check-ins available
  • Storm priority support for past customers
  • Ongoing recommendations as your roof ages

We stay accountable.

This is the RoofOps System. Same standard, every roof, every time — whether it's a $1,500 repair or a $75,000 DaVinci slate estate. The system doesn't change based on job size. The standard doesn't change based on who's watching.

The RoofOps System is how we run every job. The eight Installation Non-Negotiables below are the standards the actual work must meet. Both apply to every install.

The Work Itself

Eight Installation Non-Negotiables.

The RoofOps System is how we run the customer journey. The eight standards below are how we run the work itself. Every roofer claims to install "to manufacturer spec." Almost none actually do — cutting corners saves real money on every job, and most homeowners never know the difference until 8 or 12 years in, when the roof starts failing in ways the shingle warranty doesn't cover.

This section is a public record of what we install, how, and why. Read it. Compare to what other contractors tell you. Ask them to match it in writing.

Dry-In Stage · Real RoofOps Install
Full synthetic underlayment, cap-nailed, seams overlapped to manufacturer spec — before a single shingle goes down. No felt. No staples. No exposed deck overnight.
Non-Negotiable 01

STINGER® Cap Fastening for Synthetic Underlayment

Most contractors use staples or plastic button caps driven by hand. Both fail in high winds — and void most manufacturer warranties for wind-driven rain. We use STINGER® cap nails driven by pneumatic tool. Every time. Manufacturer-required. 180 mph wind rated.

Non-Negotiable 02

Cut-Mortar Chimney Flashing

#1 cause of chimney leaks isn't the chimney — it's the flashing. #1 cause of flashing failure is lazy installation. We cut new flashing into mortar joints. Not caulk over old flashing. Not surface-mount with sealant. Cut, set, seal, done.

Non-Negotiable 03

Ring-Shank Nails on 7/12 Pitch and Steeper

Smooth-shank nails back out under wind uplift. Documented engineering reality. Manufacturers specify ring-shank on steep pitches. Most contractors use whatever's cheapest in the gun. We use ring-shank nails on every pitch 7/12 or steeper. Full stop.

Non-Negotiable 04

Crickets on Chimneys 30" or Wider

IRC code requires a cricket (saddle) on any chimney 30 inches or wider on the uphill side. Nearly every older Lehigh Valley home with a chimney leak is missing one. We add crickets to every qualifying chimney. Code compliance isn't optional.

Non-Negotiable 05

Balanced Attic Ventilation

Most misunderstood part of roofing. Too little ventilation shortens shingle life. Too much pulls conditioned air out of the home. Mismatched systems destroy shingles in 10 years. We calculate intake and exhaust to manufacturer spec on every install.

Non-Negotiable 06

Ice and Water Shield at Every Required Location

Pennsylvania is climate zone 5. Ice dam risk is real. Code minimum extends 24 inches past the interior wall plane at every eave. We apply ice and water shield to every eave, valley, and penetration on every install.

Non-Negotiable 07

Proper Starter Course

Starter strips look simple. They're not. Miscut voids manufacturer wind warranty, creates lift points. We install manufacturer-matched starter strips at every eave and rake — cut to spec, fastened to spec, sealed to spec.

Non-Negotiable 08

Full Magnetic Sweep

Final day — full magnetic sweep of driveway, lawn, walkways, and the property perimeter. Non-negotiable. Every RoofOps job ends with a magnetic sweep — guaranteed. If we miss one, call us. We come back.

How to Vet Any Contractor

Ask These Ten Questions. Get Answers in Writing.

If you're comparing RoofOps against another contractor, ask them these questions — verbatim. A contractor who gives honest answers to all ten, in writing, is a contractor worth hiring (even if it's not us).

The RoofOps Ten-Question Vet

  1. What fastener do you use for synthetic underlayment?
  2. How do you install chimney flashing — cut-mortar or surface-mount?
  3. Do you use ring-shank nails on steep pitches?
  4. Will you add a cricket to my chimney if it's over 30 inches wide?
  5. What's your ventilation calculation method?
  6. How much ice and water shield do you install, and where?
  7. Do you complete a magnetic sweep on the final day?
  8. Are you manufacturer-certified (Atlas Pro, CertainTeed ShingleMaster, etc.)?
  9. What workmanship warranty do you offer — in writing?
  10. Who is my dedicated point of contact during the install?
What the System Delivers

You'll Notice. The Difference Is Obvious.

  • Calls returned same-day, every time
  • Questions answered by someone who knows your project
  • You know when the crew arrives, what they're doing, when they'll be done
  • You see photos of the install while it's happening
  • Real final walkthrough, not a driveway wave
  • Warranty and project file organized and accessible
Done right. Every shingle time.
